LOCKTON INSURANCE 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
The San Diego Wine and Culinary Center is a premier venue for wedding and corporate events. As the exclusive caterer we were able to help Lockton Insurance celebrate their 50 Year Anniversary and got pictures to prove it! Some great rental furniture in bright colors paired with the wine themed event center really helped this one-of-a-kind party come to life. 
Straight from the Continental Catering kitchen, we created a mouthwatering fajita bar and cheese station for guest’s to nibble on throughout the evening.
With seating inside as well as seating outside around the fire pit, this event and venue was truly unique and had all the offerings any potential client could want or need! YOU ARE THE GLAZE TO OUR DONUTS
Good Morning to all of you up an at-em today! As you may know, today is National Donut Day and we are celebrating like any other human being would. Some employees are double fisting them while others are drooling over the box feeling indecisive. Although we enjoy the classics, Nomad Donuts posh pallet of unique flavors was our go to on such an important Friday of the year.
Three dozen donuts later, our hearts and stomachs are filled with sugary goodness and we’re ready to begin our workday. Some of our favorites were the basics of course, vanilla, chocolate and maple but we couldn’t help ourselves when it came to the fancy flavors. We tried the Meyer Lemon, Lemon Poppy Seed, Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter, Carrot Chocolate Chip, Strawberry with Chocolate Hazelnut, Coffee Maple Vanilla, Mango Chili Cilantro, Peach Jam Blackberry Lime, Pineapple Cake, Strawberry Kiwi, Chocolate Custard Brown Butter and the Charred Blueberry Cream Cheese. What a mouthful, if we do say so ourselves! So don’t spend your Friday wishing you had one of these babies in your belly because come Saturday you’ll realize you missed out on one of the most important holidays of the year! Nom Nom Nom.

Did you know that today is National Wine Day? Well because the owner of Continental is crazy about wine, it would be ridiculous of us to not post something about this wondrous day! The Girls in the Vineyard is a wine we carry and serve to our customers. The reason we chose this wine is because it represents Continental Catering as a women owned business. Although “the girls” in the name are a representation of the vines the grapes are grown from in the vineyard, the mission of this company is to bring the wines from the vines to you without any fuss. Last month we had the pleasure of catering the San Diego wedding of Bryan and Amy (where the adults obviously knew how to have fun) at the Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla. The couple and their guests not only enjoyed some artisan cheeses, but also a good game of bean bag toss. There was no doubt in our minds that these lovely people danced the night away ate their hearts out, ending the night with major “food babies.” Take a look at the beautiful images captured by The Youngrens. AUBREY ARNOLD – ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT + FRENCH FRY FANATIC
Meet Aubrey, one of our newest (well, kind of) members of the Continental Catering family. Although she has officially passed her 90 day provisional period; I mean, she didn’t need 90 days to prove herself to a bunch of awesome, extroverted and awkward people for us to know that we belonged together. Aubrey joined the team as the Administrative Assistant and needless to say, we can’t imagine our office without her. If you so happen to call our office or make a personal visit, chances are that she’ll be the first person you speak to! In her spare time, Aubrey enjoys going to Disneyland, reading and matching her socks.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
“I am a San Diego native and proud graduate of the University of San Diego. Being a true geek at heart, I am lucky to be grounded by the awesome people in my life and the amazing things we do together. I love movies, TV, books, theatre, traveling, donuts, anything Disney and of course my favorite holiday is Halloween. I have a bucket list a mile long and I work every day to try and cross things off only to add more. I am happy to be at Continental Catering and grateful for the opportunity to grow. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me here. “

“Practically Perfect In Every Way,” She says while chuckling.
What does your dream day look like?
“Disneyland would be closed to everyone but me and my friends. We would ride all the rides without any lines, eat at Club 33, dance in the parade, lay in the middle of Main Street to watch the fireworks, have a front row seat to Fantasmic, an unlimited supply of churros, then end the night sleeping in the Dream Suite.”
What is your favorite quote and why?
“Sometime you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” –Dr. Seuss
This is my favorite quote because it reminds me to appreciate everything.
If you could host a dinner for 1 person (dead or alive), who would it be and what would you serve?
J.K. Rowling and I would serve chocolate cookies and butterbeer, obviously.

Although we are aware that not everyone loves vegetables (….especially when they’re green) we recently had a tasting for a couple who are living the meat-free life and still loving food while doing so. Being a catering company, we had no problem customizing a menu to fit their needs, and in the process we just so happened to create some exciting new recipes that we could add to our everyday menus! So even if you’re not dying to eat your peas and carrots come dinner time like the good ol’ days, our office Meatatarian (Charles Russell) had no problem stuffing his face with some of these healthy alternatives!
